  • Tuesday April 16th – An evening of noise, sound, tension, and exploration with:
Pedestrian Deposit (CA) // Parabola // Serrated Slump // DJ Steel Dangerous – (see bios and parking info below)
    7:30pm doors – 8:30pm show – $8-10 Suggested donation for the musicians
Hive Mind – 375 W. Exchange St – Akron Ohio

One of the best performative noise bands in the world today!! Reverse tension, abrasive composition. The duo of Shannon A. Kennedy and Jonathan Borges is best described as visceral and narrative; informed by elements of experimental sound, harsh noise, musique concrete, neo-classical, dark ambiance and performance art but is not beholden to any one genre. IT IS BEST EXPERIENCED LIVE AND IN THE MOMENT TO UNDERSTAND ITS FULL SCOPE. PD maintains an adherence to personal integrity and independence — both with live appearances and recordings, which are issued through Monorail Trespassing, the record label Borges has operated for nearly 20 years. Their refusal to play into the corporate re-structuring of the music underground remains a consistent mindset. Instrumentation consists of physically activated, sculptural instruments made of wood, metal, strings and springs, and gutter electronics.

****First tour in 4 years – YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS!! Ask anyone who has seen them live… incredible!!!

    PARABOLA (Cle):
Heady synth/electronics a/v duo of Matthew Gallagher (Machine Listener, R&D, VOV) + Frank Upson (visuals).

Experimental sound duo of Akron’s Hive Mind chiefs Pete Bach + Maggie Duff. Pete uses midi and keyboards/synths to create washes of ambient atmospheric sound, while Maggie’s forte is the singing saw, which she runs through effects pedals for melody, texture, dissonance and noise.
    New release:

DJ STEEL DANGEROUS: Doug Gent of Moth Cock (Kent)
